Offering Stones

Offering Stones
When we wildcraft or go looking for (or just find) objects in nature, such as flowers, pebbles, feathers, bones, etc., we should leave an offering of thanks for the gift. Basically, a gift for a gift. I'm one who believes that our heartfelt "Thank you" is enough, but if we have some kind of 'pretty' to give, that's all the better! So when I heard about Offering Stones I just had to check it out.

Basically, it's a kid's recipe for dough ornaments, but with a more magickal intent and use!

Offering Stones Recipe
Dough:
2 cups Flour
2 cups Water
1 cup Salt
2 T Cooking Oil
1 T Cream of Tartar (optional)

Decorations:
Glitter
Rosebuds
Herbs
Food coloring
Crystals

Combine all ingredients in saucepan.
Cook to a mashed potato consistency, i.e. when it pulls away from the sides of the sauce pan.
Once the moisture is evaporated and it's a Play-Dough consistency, remove from the heat.
Add the herbs.
Roll pieces into a ball in your hands then smash flat or form into any shape you want.
Add any other decorations, such as glitter & crystals.
Let dry for several days or dry in the oven on the lowest setting.

Store any extra dough in a sealable container.
If it dries out, just add water and mix, cooking on low.
